The Founder’s Story
At the Heart of TealBerry House
TealBerry House was born from a personal journey and a powerful realization that giving attention to my inner wellbeing was not a luxury; it was fundamental to how I felt, how I connected with others and how I experienced life.
From Teaching to Consultancy
From a young age, I was deeply sensitive to human kindness and connection, though I couldn’t yet understand why their presence-or absence-so strongly shaped my sense of safety and happiness. It is no surprise therefore, that my career began in developmental psychology and early childhood education, where I saw first hand how emotional and relational experiences shape a person’s inner world. Becoming a parent deepened this understanding and led me into consultancy and coaching, supporting individuals, teams, and leaders to build emotional intelligence and navigate complexity with greater awareness and relational skill—well before it became a leadership buzzword.
Executive Leadership
Later, an invitation to join a values-driven global non-profit working in underserved regions took me into executive leadership, where over nearly two decades I rose to become global director for one of its education agencies. There, with the collaboration and support of many, we led an ambitious initiative to unite over 200 schools and education programmes across 13 countries into one of the world’s largest not-for-profit private school systems. The work was deeply meaningful and I gained rich insight into how large, complex systems function, where they succeed and where they falter.
It took many years - almost imperceptibly at first - before I recognised I was experiencing the all too common symptoms of burnout—emotional fatigue, growing self-doubt, and the disorienting sense that I was becoming someone I didn’t quite recognise or want to be. Working harder and longer did not seem to make it better. These were not just passing feelings; they were signals I could no longer ignore.
This period marked the start of an intentional and quiet inner journey that drew on all my training and experience. It’s taken me towards making choices that are more aligned to my core values and faith, using my natural skills and talents in service of others, whilst also nurturing my wellbeing and relationships with love and attention. I now understand just how profoundly my inner state shapes how I lead myself and others and how I relate and interpret the world around me.
Coming Full Circle - Reclaiming what matters
TealBerry House came into being as a way to continue on this journey, bringing me full circle to coaching and consultancy. I believe that the human side of leadership and change deserves deeper care and attention. We thrive when we live in harmony with our values, honour what truly matters, and nurture our unique talents and gifts. It’s at this intersection that meaningful growth, resilience, and transformation can happen - and where I now focus my efforts.
Today, TealBerry House is a family endeavour. I’m proud to work alongside my husband and son, who bring their passion and expertise to our shared mission. Together, we help people navigate change, balancing performance with wellbeing.
At its heart, TealBerry House is about honouring the essential humanity present in every moment of our lives.
